Research in the Capitol is an annual event featuring undergraduate research from Iowa's Regent Universities. This year's Research in the Capitol (RIC) is on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Complete the online RIC Abstract submission form by Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

ISU students, along with undergraduates from the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa, display posters and describe their research to legislators, reporters, and top university administrators, serving as ambassadors to convey the depth and variety of research done at Iowa State.

Twenty research projects are selected each year to represent Iowa State. Submissions are evaluated by topic, relevance to legislative interests, and geographic representation.

Although coordinated by the University Honors Program, all undergraduate students are eligible and encouraged to apply for RIC.

Applications may be submitted by individuals or small groups.

If you are interested in presenting your research at Research in the Capitol, please complete the online RIC Abstract Submission form by Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

ISU students or their mentors may contact Svitlana Zbarska (szbar@iastate.edu) for more information.
